HEADSTAND WORKSHOP
The path to a stable headstand 30th May
Service Description
Join us for a focused headstand workshop where we’ll explore the foundations of Sirsasana and build the confidence to go upside down with control and ease. This is a step by step approach to a pose that can often feel intimidating — breaking it down so you know the path you need to take to get there, not something you just throw yourself into and hope for the best. This is for you if you: Feel inconsistent getting in and out of headstand so never try in class Rely on the wall (or feel scared to leave it) Feel anxious about falling or losing control Am I ready to learn headstand? Headstand asks for a good level of shoulder strength, core support, and body awareness. A helpful guideline: If you can hold a steady forearm plank or dolphin for around a minute, you likely have the strength needed to begin exploring the pose safely. What to expect? Arriving and warming the body We’ll begin by gently opening and activating the body, focusing on the shoulders, core, and the key areas that support you when you go upside down. Building the foundations You’ll learn the shapes and actions that create a stable headstand. How to place your weight, how to use your arms, and how to organise your body so you’re not relying on momentum. Step by step exploration We’ll move progressively through drills and preparation shapes that build strength, awareness, and control, so you understand how to get there rather than just hoping for it. Supported practice There will be space to explore headstand with support, whether that is the wall, props, or hands on guidance, helping you build confidence in a way that feels safe. Refining and holding the shape If it is available to you, we will explore how to find more ease in the pose, stay for longer, and move in and out with more control. Landing and integrating We’ll close with a slower, grounding practice to let everything settle, giving your body & mind time to integrate This is an intimate workshops of max 12 people so you will receive individual support. Early booking is advised as this will sell out quick as it's been a heavily requested workshop!
